One late night as I came up for air from an office cubicle, I realized that a long career in my current occupation was not in the stars.  I had long connected quite a few of the dots in my 41 years – a stint in the military, a BA and MA in History, a life-changing Peace Corps tour teaching English in West Africa – but still I felt empty and at a crossroads. I stumbled into a Tarot reading.  I was taken aback when at the end of the session, the reader tossed me the deck of cards and proclaimed: “You’re going be a Tarot reader”.   I laughed it off of course and then proceeded to read every book I could on the subject, and this gateway eventually led me to study astrology.  Eventually, I did quit my day job as an insurance investigator, returning to the teaching profession; however, my passion for astrology remained.

 

That is my story, and I have been actively practicing astrology for over twenty-five years.  The House of Or-El Astrology is an expression of my interest in the art of astrology, my love for people, and my fascination with the search for meaning in our earthly existence.  To this end, I believe that astrology can serve as a catalyst or trigger to that innate self-knowledge smoldering beneath our consciousness.  If we mine and gaze upon these gems, we become empowered to make informed decisions about our choices in life.
